Richard Rosin
It was a desire to be of service to people that led Richard to his chosen profession as a pharmacist, and it was that same desire to help others and to take part in the good works that they do which brought him closer to the Knights of Columbus. He has been a member of the Knights for about two years now and is a Third Degree member. It was his friend, Stan Waslowski, who finally got him to sign on the dotted line, but certainly the desire to be of service to the community and to “give something back” was a large part of the inspiration.
While his activity with the Knights of Columbus has been somewhat limited, his involvement in the church and the community certainly hasn’t. With the Knights, he has been a part of a couple of meetings and has taken part in the Salvation Army bell ringing as well as the spouse appreciation dinner, but he finds that a large part of his time in devoted to activities with his family. He serves as the Commissioner of the Wednesday Noon Optimist softball league, a position which brings with it a lot of paperwork, as the pile of forms in his family room attests. He also coaches a team and his wife, Connie, coaches a volleyball team at St. Bernard parish.
Richard completed his pharmacy studies at UW-Madison in 1976 and since then has had a variety of experiences, working at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Stien Drug in Oshkosh, Morton Drug in Neenah and Haney Drug in Plover. Currently he is Pharmacy Director at Oneida Health pharmacy where the average day is incredibly busy. His time is spent in consultation with physicians and nurses, contacts with patients and in general keeping things organized. He had the honor of serving as president of the Brown County Pharmacy Society in 1985. He also had been working on an MBA Degree, a goal he finally attained despite his busy lifestyle about two years ago after fifteen years of work.
A native of Green Bay, Richard remembers being a part of St. Mary of the Angels Parish many years ago where he was an altar server. His involvement in the life of the parish continues today as he is a Minister of Hospitality at St. Bernard. Richard and Connie (whose last name is pronounced row zeén) will be married twenty years this coming June and have two children--Jennifer and Stephanie. The little free time he has is devoted to some favorite activities such as playing cards, hunting and fishing and involvement in the children’s activities. They used to camp occasionally and also like to travel when there is a chance to do so, their most recent trip being to Daytona and Orlando. His desire to be of service to the people of the community certainly finds an outlet in the many activities in which he and his family are involved.
