Scott Rebman

Scott probably did not expect to be too involved with the Knights, but he experienced a sort of rebirth after he became a part of the fraternity.  After his dad, current State Warden Richard Rebman found out that Scott and his family were moving to a location near St. Bernard, Richard started talking to him about becoming a part of the Knights.  He knew little about the Knights prior to joining, although he remembers seeing men in the Fourth Degree Honor Guard once in a while at funerals and other functions.  He also heard many positive stories about the Knights from Richard, and he confesses that one of the things that moved him to join the Knights was the fact that he was tired of hearing about it from his dad.  Scott joined the Knights around March of 1992 and made Fourth Degree about a year later.  He was a part of a group of men who doubled the size of the Council’s Fourth Degree membership at an exemplification in Appleton, where members and spouses gathered in Scott & LouAnn’s hotel room for Mass and social time.  He never regretted the he decision to become a part of the Knights or of the Fourth Degree.  Both he and his wife enjoy being a part of the Fourth Degree family and they hope to be able to get more involved in the social aspects which that Degree offers.

In the time that he and his family have been associated with the Knights, Scott has become a sort of professional picnic planner in that he has taken care of the organization of the Council Picnic for the last two years.  He thinks he might get “picnicked out”, but also would like to get more involved in the Knights, especially in the meetings.  Although his sons’ involvement in sports and in Scouts has kept Scott busy as well, he still has found the time to be a part of a variety of activities such as food stands, helping occasionally as Inside Guard for First Degree exemplifications and Tootsie Roll drives.  Being a people person, he enjoys any activity that enables him to meet many different people.  He especially notes the camaraderie that exists in the Knights, and the fun that members have working together on projects: “Working with other people for a cause is fun, since people have the same goal in mind.”  He finds that family and other commitments sometimes keep him away from meetings, but does appreciate the family oriented activities of the Knights.  His wife and members of the family have been involved in some of the activities of the Council, and he says LouAnn is supportive of him and his involvement in the Knights.  She has also taken advantage of the activities of the Council and Scott notes, “She thinks it’s a blast.”

Scott is employed at Fort Howard as a ‘Chemical Lab Technician.’  When asked how he spent an average day, he replied “How much ink do you have in that pen?”  He works in the Ledger Lab, which he admits is called a few other things that do not sound so complimentary.  He spends time testing inks and papers and finds that the only thing he really doesn’t like about the job is getting used to the swing shift.  He is a native of Green Bay and Scott and LouAnn have been married for fourteen years now.  Scott feels they are still on their honeymoon.  They have three boys, ages twelve, nine and eight.  As far as hobbies, he does enjoy family fishing trips and camping.  Aside from that he also likes hunting.  It is a busy and an active life, and through his presence in the Knights he has proven that active membership in the Council can truly be a family activity.
