Kevin Lardinois
As is the case with many men who are now a part of the Knights of Columbus, Kevin really didn't know a lot about the organization before he got involved except for some memories of the Honor Guard in action.  It was at the invitation of Jim Barnett that he decided to become a part of the Council, though he thought he would be too busy to get very involved. Kevin and Jim encountered one another at church frequently and Jim noticed an opportunity for recruitment.  Since coming through the First Degree less than a year ago, he has managed to make several meetings of the Council and also advanced through Second and Third Degree. Busy or not, he feels he fits well into the Council.

Kevin works as a machinist at EMT International, specifically handling a 'CNC lathe'--computer numerical control, manufacturing parts for the paper industry.  As a programmer and operator, he tries to turn "prints into parts."  While this gives him more contact with a computer than with people, he enjoys what he does, though he'd occasionally like to run into more people in the course of the day.

Originally from Green Bay, Kevin lives at home with his parents and has been a member of St. Bernard parish for his entire life of twenty-five years.  After graduating Notre Dame Academy he went on to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College to become a Machine Tool Operator.  Evidently, he succeeded, since he is occasionally asked to teach at NWTC as a part time substitute.

When he has the chance to relax, he ejnoys spending time with his girlfriend Ann, whom he's been seeing for about three years now.  He's an avid sportsman, especially hunting and fishing.  His parents have a cabin at Amberg, Wisconsin, about an hour and a half from Green Bay.  That has provided him with the opportunity to hunt goose, ducks and deer; he's also hunted goose in North Dakota.  Snowmobiling is also on his leisure agenda, though the weather this year has not been too cooperative.  He also likes to travel when he has the opportunity and has been to Yellowstone and Las Vegas, admitting that the latter trip did not leave him a big winner.  Along with some others he takes part in an annual fishing trip to Gerlaton, Ontario, and he'll be heading out to Salt Lake City in May.  When there's nothing else to hunt, he keeps in practice by shooting sporting clays ('clay pigeons.')  For the past ten years he's also volunteered in the Spring and the Fall to open and close the Diocesan property at Chambers Island.

While his involvement in the Council to this point has pretty much been limited to meetings, he is looking forward to expanding that involvement. He's interested in booyah and in donating blood.  He views the Council as a "great group of men who help and who have helped a lot of people."  We are very happy he decided to check us out and we welcome Kevin to the Council family.
