Kevin G. Chapman, a resident of West Windsor, has published his third novel—a crime thriller titled

Righteous Assassin (A Mike Stoneman Thriller)

.

Chapman, a 23-year resident of West Windsor, is an attorney for whom fiction writing is a passion.

This new novel, a chase to capture a serial killer, features a New York Police Department homicide detective named Mike Stoneman.

The character was developed for a short story that won a crime fiction writing competition sponsored by the New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association.

Chapman decided to make Stoneman the central character of the new story with the hope that this novel will be the first in a series of future crime dramas. As a bonus for readers, the original short story, titled “Fool Me Twice,” is included at the end of the book.

Chapman will hold a book signing party at Foley’s Sports Pub in Manhattan on Sunday, Dec. 16, but readers who want an autographed copy of the book sooner can visit the author’s website at kevingchapman.com to order one, or contact him via the website to arrange for an in-person signing.

Chapman attended Columbia and graduated with the Class of 1983 with a bachelor’s in English. He then went to law school at Boston University (where he met his wife, Sharon, who is also an attorney as well as photographer), earning his J.D. focusing on labor law in 1986. Immediately following that, he became an associate in the Labor Department of Proskauer Rose, handling litigation, arbitration and benefits issues.

In 1991, Chapman moved to Kauff McClain & McGuire, but soon wanted to get out of New York City. He looked in New Jersey and found an offer from Dow Jones, which owns and operates the Wall Street Journal. He’s been the company’s general counsel since 1995, and a resident of West Windsor the whole time.

The Chapmans have three children, Samantha, Connor and Ross, all of whom graduated from High School North.
