Family is the heart of any enterprise, and nowhere is that more evident than at Amalfi’s in Lawrenceville. The Moriello family, dad Ciro, mom Rosanna, and sons Luigi, Antonio, and Dario, have run the popular venue since 2000, when it opened as a small 80-seat eatery.

Since then growing popularity has given rise to expansion after expansion. Today Amalfi’s boasts a vibrant bar and lounge, restaurant, and private events room. The newest addition, the lounge, offers a welcoming atmosphere and TVs galore so that no game need be missed. It features a long bar that displays a vast and colorful array of libations. It is the perfect spot to settle in with friends, especially on the weekends, as Amalfi’s is justly famous for hosting local bands playing their hearts out. Music for almost every taste is the order of the day.

The banquet room can seat 75 comfortably. The catering department has four creative menus to choose from whether you are hosting a luncheon or dinner. Children can be accommodated with their own entree, and service can be either sit-down or buffet style. Of particular note, the menu offers choices that are vegetarian and gluten-free. The newly renovated lounge area makes corporate happy hour events more comfortable than ever.

The main dining menu offers a variety of Italian dishes with a special focus on their signature Brooklyn Pie, a thin crust pizza of fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil. This specialty takes an extra 25 minutes to bake, but that only heightens the expectation.

While you wait, a choice of tempting appetizers such as Crespelle Fiorentina, eggplant stuffed with ricotta and spinach, and fresh Italian antipasto are featured. Fresh seafood dishes are always prepared daily for optimum taste. Not to be missed is Amalfi’s award-winning Rigatoni Vodka.

Other specialty pizzas are also on offer, but be sure to save room for the sweet Nutella pizza for dessert.

The Moriello family firmly believes that being part of the community requires commitment beyond serving fine food in a welcoming atmosphere. Amalfi’s pitches in with special events and fundraisers for schools in Hopewell and Lawrenceville. Of special pride is the annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation event where kids help kids with cancer. In addition, the family donates gift certificates to numerous organizations for fundraising and auctions and sponsors many local sports teams.

Whether it is a date night destination, a family dinner, a corporate function, or a festive celebration, Amalfi’s has the perfect solution. To make the choice for fine food easy, they offer delivery. As the family says, come in as a customer but leave as a friend.
